Coco is 5 years old. She's been at Ollie Place for 3 years, which is
baffling because she's such a sweet and beautiful cat. Maybe it's because
she's not a big fan of sharing an adoption center with 30 other cats,
and tends to be a wallflower here. If she had to share the place with
30 people, she'd be the happiest cat ever!
Coco has more personality than most people you'll ever meet. She likes to have
complete conversations with you (and always has to get the last word in).
She will rub all over you when you pet her and she's a big lap cat.
Unfortunately lately she's becoming a very big lap cat, because she won't
roam around in the playroom with the other cats so she's not getting much exercise.
Her daily ritual is to climb on top of the crates and look out the window all
day...she would so love to have a home and person to call her very own.

Ali was quite the little tough guy when he was a kitten, but he's mellowed a
lot over the years. He is one smart cookie and seems to understand every word
we say. He used to be impossible to get back into his crate at night - he would
sit on top of the crates and if you tried to lift him down he'd freak out. Then
Stephanie, one of our volunteers, said "Ali, if I was going to drop you
I wouldn't bother trying to get you down." He looked at her and then let
her lift him down. Sometimes he gets depressed and we'll say “Ali,
I promise you'll get a home soon” and he just gives you this look like
he knows exactly what you just said and then he'll rub all over you. He gets
into carrying cases brought for other cats who are being adopted and won't get
out! He's so ready to go home.
Ali is around 3 1/2 years old, and he's been at Ollie's Place since he was a
kitten. Ali is in good health and just waiting to float like a butterfly right
into your heart.
Can you give this champ the best Valentine ever - a home of his own? If you are
interested in adopting Ali, please email Jenny at info@olliesplace.org.
A Benefit for Mighty Mutts/Ollies Place
February 26, 2008, from 6-9pm
The
Cutting Room
19 West 24th Street
The benefit will feature a limited open bar, and live music from 7-9pm. All
proceeds will go to benefit the animals in Mighty Mutts and Ollie's Place care,
as well as aiding in the feeding and rescuing of the dozens and dozens of strays
we encounter every day. All proceeds are tax deductible. Contact
us if you are interested in volunteering for this special event.
Great news - we've had several adoptions in the past couple of months! Some of
the cats who went home are Slim, Croquette (both featured on the site in December),
Smitty, Ruby and Chantay (two beautiful Siamese), and little Mary and Mocha!
We hope to have lots more in the new year.
Would you like to have a cat, but can't commit to the long haul? How about fostering?
We are looking for foster homes for the many cats who we can't presently help
because we don't have room for them. It's a really great way to help out the
severe cat overpoulation problem here in NYC, and you can make a real difference
in the life of some special feline. And it's great fun! If you are interested
in fostering, please contact Jenny info@olliesplace.org.

Please consider giving a tax-deductible gift to Ollie's
Place as part of your charitable contributions this year. Ollie's Place
rescues, rehabilitates and finds homes for the littlest and most vunerable
homeless new yorkers - the cats that have been cast away. It all takes
hard work, dedication, and money! Thank you so much for your generous gift.
